I began my service as the Muhlenberg County Sheriff on January 3, 2011. I certainly feel honored to be able to serve the county in this capacity.
As a public servant it is my desire that my department and I serve the community with the integrity and professionalism that you deserve.
We are committed to working with all local law enforcement agencies to ensure that our residents remain as safe as possible. We also work diligently to maintain positive and public relations so that citizens are well informed. In 2016 alone the department has presented power point trainings relating to scams, church safety, active shooters and substance abuse.
We are aggressively fighting drug abuse believing that a sober community is a safer community. Not only does the department seek to arrest those who sell illegal drugs but the department has also developed prevention efforts such as the Junior Deputy Program (a program designed for third graders that has received state recognition.)
If my office or I may serve you, please do not hesitate to contact us. You may call the office at (207)338-3345, or Central Dispatch after normal business hours at (270)338-2000.
Sincerly, Curtis McGehee
